"AI and Big Data Analytics for Sustainable Crop and Food Productivity"

Global food security and sustainable agriculture are two of the most immediate concerns of the 21st century, particularly against the backdrop of climate change, resource limitation, and increasing population pressure. To address these challenges, the converging of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data Analytics in farming practices is revolutionizing crop cultivation, monitoring, and optimization.
Artificial intelligence-based models can scan huge datasets gathered by satellites, drones, sensors, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices to find evidence of soil health, weather, pest activity, and crop yield. Leveraging predictive analytics and real-time decision-making software, these technologies make precision agriculture possible, eliminate waste, increase yield, and support environmental sustainability.
This special issue seeks to collect advanced research and applied innovations that harness AI and big data to enhance agricultural productivity, food system resilience, and sustainable management of resources. It invites contributions from computer scientists, agronomists, environmental engineers, and policy specialists who are at the nexus of technology and food systems.
This special issue aims to inspire innovation and debate on the revolutionary role of AI and big data in ensuring sustainable food systems. By confronting crucial technological and practical challenges, it will contribute to a new generation of data-driven agriculture that is more efficient, responsive, and sustainable-enabling resilient food production systems in an interconnected world.
